| Selecting The Correct Motor Starter |
| Short Circuit Co-ordination |
|
The back up fuses quoted give Type 2 co-ordination (as defined in BS EN 60947-4-1) such that after an extremely heavy short circuit the risk of welded contacts is accepted but the starter must be suitable for further service after the weld has been broken. In selected cases it is possible to use Memshield 2 miniature circuit breakers to provide similar back up protection for automatic starters. |
