They employ a rotary/sliding contact action that offers superior performance combined with compact size. Exclusive use of Eaton MEM fuselinks will extend the warranty period to three years. Standard units are available in single pole (SPN and SPSN) form from 32A to 200A and in triple pole (TP, TPN and TPSN) from 32A to 800A. In addition to the standard front-action FCS a unique side-operated version is available for draw-out motor control duty or for applications where space is restricted. Ratings are 32A to 160A in TP, TPN and TPSN configurations. Triple pole switches up to 400A can be supplied with a three-position switch action - ON, OFF and TEST. The third position allows test auxiliaries to be operated. Switch-disconnector units are also available in six ratings from 45A to 1000A in double pole, triple pole or four pole form. The rotary switching system uses a wiping blade-and-clip contact system. This is inherently self-cleaning and overcomes the problem of contact bounce. It employs a double-break action to provide load breaking isolation on either side of the fuselink. This offers increased safety, comparable to that offered by the traditional fuse-switch although, in this case, the fuses are stationary. The switching mechanism uses an operator-independent over-centre spring assisted system which ensures positive and consistent switching with reduced arcing and contact wear. The IP54 black handle is designed to be interlocked with the door in the ON position but this can be overridden by a competent person, for maintenance or emergency purposes. The handle provides positive indication of the contact position, with the door closed, and a contact position indicator on the switch itself, provides positive indication with the door open. Thye range complies with BS EN 60947-3 and VDE 0660 and carries both ASTA and KEMA approval. |
