New packaging livery for Eaton’s electrical products
New packaging livery for Eaton’s electrical products
Eaton’s MEM and BILL brands have introduced a new packaging livery that reflects the integration of electrical installation products from the former MEM 250, MEM Circuit Protection & Control and Bill Switchgear into a single entity, offering Britain’s widest range of electrical installation products for residential, commercial, industrial and public buildings.

Eaton’s electrical business offers installation products from the main switchboard to the socket-outlet. The range includes wiring accessories and domestic circuit protection equipment from the former MEM 250 and single-phase and three-phase switchgear, fusegear and circuit-breaker systems, motor controlgear, distribution boards, panelboards, cubicle switchboards and associated switching and protective devices from MEM Circuit Protection & Control and Bill Switchgear. The company offers both fuse and circuit-breaker technologies. Busbar trunking systems, transient voltage surge suppression equipment and power factor correction products are also in the range.

The new product labelling reflects the group identity through the prominent use of the ‘Eaton’ logo. However, the ‘MEM’ and ‘Bill Switchgear’ logos – which have been familiar to specifiers and installers in the UK and overseas for nearly a century – are also retained on both the labels and packaging tape. The catalogue number of each product appears prominently on the label together with a clear product description and quantity.

The new packaging livery forms part of a number of brand recognition strategies due to be implemented during the year to establish Eaton’s MEM brand as the leading brand of electrical installation products in the UK.

A new streamlined operation with one customer service centre, one sales team, one contact telephone number and one commercial policy is geared to the needs of busy specifiers and installers involved in every type of electrical installation. This is backed by a wide range of technical services from basic product advice to system design, project management, commissioning and maintenance services on major contracts.

“Now, from a single source, you can tap into a complete range of industrial, commercial and domestic products and services” says Alan Birks, Marketing Director of Eaton’s MEM brand. “This enables us to provide a greater depth of product from one source to tackle anything from simple installations through to the management of major projects, with global resources harnessed to develop innovative new products.”

The new packaging and labelling will help wholesalers’ trade counter staff to locate the appropriate Eaton MEM products quickly and easily, and so offer a more efficient service to busy customers.
