The system is designed around the new Eaton Electric G-series global moulded-case circuit-breaker family which features compact dimensions combined with a high-speed blow-open contact action giving exceptional performance under high fault current conditions. An electronic trip mechanism means that devices can be configured to suit individual circuit requirements. The panelboards are solidly built with lockable, lift-off hinged doors, removable pan assemblies and removable gland plates. They are designed as compact units with adequate wiring space for standard cabling but with optional side extension boxes for larger cables. Top and bottom extension boxes are also available. Analogue and digital metering packs and transient voltage surge suppression kits can be supplied. Corrosion-resistant tin-plated copper busbars are standard across the range. Split neutral bars are provided and both earth and neutral bars have additional terminal capacity to accommodate multiple single-pole outgoing devices. Form 3B segregation is achieved with terminal shields in place. All boards are KEMA certified. Type 1, 2 and 3 panelboards are rated 125A, 250A and 400A respectively and offer three, six, eight or 12 triple-pole outgoing ways. All four units are designed around the new GEFrame MCCB. This is available in nine ratings from 16A to 125A with an 18kA or 25kA short-circuit rating. This makes for an extremely flexible sub-distribution panel. Type 4 and 5 panelboards, rated 400A and 630A respectively, are KEMA certified for fault currents up to 50kA for 1 second. They are designed for two different outgoing MCCB frame sizes; Type 4 will accommodate two GJ-Frame (63-250A) devices and up to 16 GE-Frame (16-125A) devices while Type 5 will take four GJ-Frame devices and up to 14 GE-Frame devices. Finally, the 800A Type 6 panelboard takes three different MCCB frame sizes allowing for two 250-400A outgoing devices plus 63-250A and 16-125A devices. Once again, the panelboard is KEMA certified for fault-current levels up to 50kA for 1 second. More complex panelboard solutions, including four-pole switching, Form 4 Type 2 segregation, dual incomers and fuse-based assemblies, can be achieved by using the companys existing MPS Modular Panelboard System. This is available as contractor built or factory built assemblies. Company
