| Memfilter AHC - Active Harmonic Conditioner |
Harmonic distortion caused by non-linear electrical loads is becoming a growing problem for both electrical suppliers and users. The ever increasing use of computers, variable speed drives, UPS systems and switched mode power supplies is causing excessive heating in transformers, switchgear and cables and damage to sensitive electronic loads. |
Various
techniques have been employed to overcome this problem.
There are arguments for and against each of these solutions but, whichever system is chosen, it is either difficult to install or totally inflexible to the changing needs of a modern day system. The more flexible approach is to use the Memfilter AHC. |

| The Memfilter AHC |
The Memfilter AHC is an active harmonic conditioner which counteracts the harmonics by injecting equal and opposite signals into the supply to cancel the offending waveforms. Using state of the art technologies the Memfilter AHC can compensate for harmonics ranging from 2nd to 25th and gives the user the choice of either global or pre-selected order compensation. Units can be used on three phase networks to give automatic compensation for either three phase, or single phase, harmonic distortion. |
Memfilter AHC has the following advantages over all other forms of harmonic control:

| Memfilter AHC Installation |
Memfilter AHC is easy to install either on a wall or within a switchboard. It requires either a three or four wire supply to the unit and the insertion of the measurement sensors into the polluted power supply. If the objective is to reduce distortion on the supply authorities network then the unit needs to be placed upstream of the polluting load with the injection point as near to the point of incoming supply as possible. |
If the need is to reduce pollution within the installation the unit must be positioned upstream but next to the pollutant. We can carry out an accurate harmonic pollution audit and then develop a flexible, high performance solution with guaranteed results. |
