| Model Selection Guide |

|
MEM recognises that commercial and industrial surge suppressor applications cover a wide range. To accommodate these requirements, we offer a broad array of AC power, data and telecommunications models of the I.T. Protector® from MEM. Many factors influence the selection of the right Protector® model. These factors are directly related to the size and complexity of a facility, as well as specific variables such as location category, exposure level and mission critical or general purpose load requirements. Electrical system layout, location of the premises and proximity to other facilities are also important factors to consider. MEM is able to perform a system survey and load risk analysis. This survey will provide the necessary information for individual model selection as well as determining facility-wide System Shield® protection. |

Notes: 1) This is a general guide only. For further information, please contact MEM Technical Services on 0121 685 2001. 2) We recommend a suppressor with Active Tracking Network for the protection of sensitive loads. (For example: Computer suites, data/telecom equipment, PLC controlled equipment including variable drives, building management systems, CNC production machinery etc.) N.B. The enhanced N-E mode Active Tracking Network featured on all PTE models MUST be disabled by cutting the selection link if the suppressor is directly connected to patient-connected medical equipment or instrumentation, circuits fed via RCD/ELCB devices, circuits connected to loads having significant % Total Harmonic Distortion (eg variable drives), or circuits with FM communications superimposed upon the 50Hz base power frequency. 3) All devices listed here require a 32A protective device of appropriate short circuit rating for the installed location prospective short circuit current. This may be via MCB, MCCB or BS88 fuses. 4) The
length of lead connecting the suppressor to the board to be protected
is critical. Ensure ALL leads are as SHORT and STRAIGHT |
